Salish is the newest sensation from the apple breeding program in Summerland, BC. More than 25 years in the making, hundreds of British Columbians tasted and chose Salish because they love its unique eating experience. Crisp, sweet and tangy, Salish is BC’s native apple and is sure to become your new favourite.

🍏APPLE OF THE WEEK🍎

This week it is Ambrosia.
Normally $2.49/lb this week only $1.49/lb.

The fruit is medium to large, and has mostly red, glossy colouration, with yellow patches. It has cream-coloured, firm with a sweet flavour reminiscent of pear and low acidity. ‘Ambrosia’ harvest is mid to late season. Trees are hardy and no major disadvantages have yet been identified.
Parentage is suspected to be ‘Red Delicious’ × ‘Golden Delicious’ because those apples existed in the orchard where the ‘Ambrosia’ was discovered growing.

Every Monday we will feature an Apple of the week. Save $1.00 per pound off of the featured Apple. This week it is Northern Spy. Normally $2.49/lb this week only $1.49/lb.

Northern Spy produces fairly late in the season (late October and beyond). Skin color is a green ground, flushed with red stripes where not shaded. The white flesh is juicy, crisp and mildly sweet with a rich, aromatic subacid flavor, noted for high vitamin C content. Its characteristic flavor is tarter than most popular varieties, and its flesh is harder or crunchier than most, with a thin skin.

Every Monday we will feature an Apple of the week. Save $1.00 per pound off of the featured Apple. This week it is Cortland. Normally $1.89/lb this week only $0.89

The Cortland apple is bright red, with a crisp white flesh that is incredibly juicy with a sweet-tart flavor. Like the McIntosh, the Cortland is a soft apple, though not quite as soft as a McIntosh; however unlike the McIntosh, the Cortland apple can be used in many ways, from eating, baking, to cooking.
